I, too, am anxiously awaiting another New Stories from the South edition for 2011 & 2012. The last review I read for the 2010 edition said many of the stories lacked the characteristic “Southernness” of previous collections. I was afraid they were no longer publishing at all. Any news on when we can expect something?

Of all the literary anthologies, this one is my favorite. I keep checking to see if it’s published yet. Please, please explain why it’s been missing!

Here we are in 2013 and no New Stories from the South, going on THREE years now–new Southern voices are not being discovered and Algonquin is losing out. Most folks don’t have time to scour literary journals looking for their favorite SS authors much less find new ones. I don’t know of any series that is missed as much as this one. Shame on Algonquin for not re-instituting NSS SOON!
