Lauren Grodstein in conversation with Stephen King
If you had to pick someone to have dinner with, Stephen King might top many lists. And rightly so, because his conversation with Lauren Grodstein about her book A Friend of the Family was funny, smart, thought-provoking, and, of course, strayed occasionally to the morbid. This Algonquin book club event was hosted by Water Street Books in Essex, NH on March 23, 2012 before a packed house. According to Seacoastonline, King described A Friend of the Family as “a literary novel that has a real suspenseful framework to it. Every page that you turn, the pages get a little bit heavier because you are afraid of what’s going to happen.”
